Adoption/placement procedures:

Until the shelter renovations are completed and we are able to house animals, CASAS is functioning as a listing service and source of information sharing between owners who need to find homes for a pet and those people wishing to adopt a pet. CASAS is not presently able to take in animals needing homes.

Cats and dogs are the primary focus of the adoption procedure. No exotic species (spiders, snakes) and no large farm animal (horses, pigs) will be listed. The animal control officer for your area should be contacted regarding stray animals.

Truro: 508-349-1100 Phil Suchecki (dogs only)

To be put in touch with a member of the Adoption Committee, please leave a message with CASAS at 508-487-4243. Please be prepared to provide detailed information about the animal you are wishing to place, (including a picture, if possible) or in the case of adopting a animal, detailed information about the animal you would like to take in.

ANIMALS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

SALEM

Salem is a friendly 8-year old neutered male who needs a new home due to the illness of his owner. He is a long-hair gray cat who had his front claws removed, so he must be kept indoors. He loves to be brushed and combed.

CANDY BAR KITTENS--ONLY THREE LEFT

Eight three-month old kittens were taken from a house in which they had little human contact and socialization. We have six males and two females and there are four orange or buff, one black and white, and three tigers. They are very curious and playful and are slowly being conditioned to human care and touch. They must be indoor cats and cannot go to a home with small children as they still scratch when picked up. A CASAS adoption fee of $150 per kitten is required to partially cover the costs of their shots and neutering.

STERLING

Sterling is a 9-year old silver Persian male who is not adjusting to the addition of a puppy to the current owner’s household. He would prefer to be the only pet in his domain! He has no front claws, so must be an indoor cat. He has a sensitive digestive system and eats only WD dry cat food. He is very affectionate and he is up-to-date with all his shots.
